Take action to safeguard the future of the Western Weald

Please spare a few moments to ensure we get the best possible National Park and safeguard the future of the western Weald.   If left out of the park the Western Weald risks losing its current level of protection.

  1. Sign our paper petition urging the Government to include the Western Weald in the South Downs National Park (it doesn't matter if you've previously signed the online petition the paper petition is quite separate).  If you print a petition sheet off please get as many signatures as possible before returning it to us.  We are aiming for a total of 10,000 signatures by December.  Pictured is Sophie-May Lewis from Midhurst who on her own initiative collected 75 signatures outside Budgens one July morning.  She also produced her own materials for her stand.  Many thanks to Sophie-May for leading the way.

  2. In West Sussex write to your local councillors and ask them to drop their opposition to the inclusion of the Western Weald in the South Downs National Park, which is threatening the future of this area.

Keep Lewes in the Park

People in Lewes have come together to fight for their inclusion in the National Park.  For more information contact Robert Cheesman on 01273 474357 or click here to email him.

To download a poster 'Keep Lewes in the National Park' (in pdf format) click here.

To download a Lewes petition click here.  Please pass around family, friends and colleagues and encourage them to sign too.  It is hoped to hand this petition in to Parliament towards the end of the year.

Just remember that with all of these petitions, this is about a park for the nation.  You don't have to live in a particular area to have an opinion as to whether it should be included.  Please return completed petition forms to Chris Todd.
